What To Bring

You’ve booked your adventure and now you are ready to plan for a fantastic day or multi day trip with us. Full trip details and recommended gear list will be sent when you make your booking but as a general guide, you should plan to bring the following.

Please note: The weather in New Zealand can be changeable even at the height of summer – please come prepared for four seasons (clothing for hot and cold weather).

Personal gear list recommended for walking:

What to Pack
  • Parka or raincoat
  • Warm jacket
  • Warm/thermal top (polypropylene)
  • T-shirt
  • Warm pants
  • Shorts
  • Woollen/polypropylene socks
  • Strong shoes or lightweight boots
  • Sun hat
  • Warm/ Insulated hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Day pack (available to hire)
  • Drink bottle (at least 1 litre)
  • Sunscreen and insect repellent
  • Blister patches/moleskin/lambs’ wool
If overnighting, you will also need:
  • Change of clothes to wear at the lodge(s) – smart casual is fine.
  • Toiletries
  • Nightwear
  • Any required medication
  • Additional/spare supplies relating to specific dietary needs
Optional
  • Binoculars
  • Camera
  • Swimsuit & towel & sandals for beach/hot tub/pool
  • A walking stick/pole

Please note there is a limit of 1 overnight bag/suitcase per person weighing no more than 15kg. Secure storage for excess luggage is available at our office for no extra cost.
